CRODA: Sentimentality went out the window. After last month's decision to hold on to this share, it continued on its downward path.
SO
We decided to sell 50% of our holding and look to invest the money elsewhere.
TRAINLINE: We were now thinking positively. This share has also continued to decline. The decision was to sell all of our holding in this company.
WE HAVE MONEY TO SPEND - and we like spending.
DISCUSSION:
Our meetings are fairly structured. Each of us follows different company shares in our portfolio. Over the years we have found that this gives us an informative view.
A couple of days before the monthly meeting we send in our findings. These are collated by one of our members who sends it out to all the morning of the meeting. This way we are kept up to date on the performance of each of our shares.
At the meeting we go through the report and discuss each share individually. Members will recommend a HOLD, SELL or BUY MORE verdict on the shares under their observation.
If a member has seen a positive article on a new company, this is added into the mix as to whether or not to add to our portfolio.
COSTAIN:
We've been very pleased with the performance of this share, however it has fallen back from its recent peak of 114p to 104p at Friday's close.
Let's hope this is just a "blip" and it will return to its former positive performance.
We are Holding.
LEGAL AND GENERAL:
Another relatively new addition to our portfolio which is showing a modest profit of 3.5%
This company pays a remarkable 9% dividend, so will always be a good choice for income- reliant investors. The member who follows L & G had seen a couple of positive reports recently in the news. With that in mind, we invested a further £2000.
ROLLS ROYCE: Sometimes we just read an article on a share and decide to delve in! Two of our members had read positive reports on Rolls Royce during the month - with the share price rising over 32% over the last 30 days.
With money to invest - why not put £4000 into a little bit of luxury.
EASYJET: Both Questor and The Motley Fool wrote glowing reports on Easyjet this month.
We are not entirely convinced, but enough to invest an initial £2000 in anticipation of a share take off during the summer holidays.
That's it for now.
HAPPY EASTER TO YOU ALL.
